写真は昨日朝の散歩路風景。札幌市西区山の手から琴似発寒川を上流に遡る公園路から見晴らせる札幌の「奥の山並み」的な風景。青空と春っぽい雲の様子がなかなか耽美的。
　「春寸前の雪」が続く札幌ですが、この時期の山並みの表情はいいのですね。
　・・・なんですが、昨年夏以来こっち方面の散歩はなるべく避けていました。ご存知のようにヒグマの出没が頻繁に報告されて、この写真方面は「自己責任」地域。まだヒグマたちは冬眠中と判断し、鬼の居ぬ合間に、という戦略的な散策路選びなのであります。
　冬の大雪状況から少し融雪も進んで散歩道の足下も改善されつつある。と思ったのですが、そうは問屋が卸さず、各所でけもの道のような細い「人の足跡道」だらけ。ヨコにちょっとずれたら雪まみれ必定。
　高齢者としては健脚と注意力の両方をきびしくチェックされる奥の細道ぶり。
　そういうことで、久しぶりにやや自然に近づいた散歩道でした。さて今年のヒグマ出没はどう推移してくるのか、十分注意を怠らないようにしたいと思います。
　このように自然観察系の散歩道選択は、このところのデータ整理作業の「疲れ癒し」目的。
　「四百年間のいのちの履歴書」とネーミングした家系と日本史のクロス現場で「庶民の血脈」がどう生き延びてきたか？　ルポor「火の鳥」型浪漫探究の件で、たくさんの資料類・紙の印刷物からテキストを抽出して整理整頓する作業に没頭。ややアタマに過熱感があり、そのクールダウンのため。
　もう40年以上前に自分自身が記述していたデータがさて、どこに仕舞い込まれたのか、Macのなかのデータ領域を探してみても見つからずデジタルデータは残っていなかった。
　あるある、情報の海難事故であります。
　やむなく印刷物スキャン〜OCR云々と考えたけれど、最近はMacの「写真」ソフトからテキスト抽出できるようになってきている。それもOS標準で可能なのですね。
　着手してみると、注意深い作業が必須だけれど、どんどんクリアできてきたのですね。
　これはなかなか作業効率を高めてくれる。すっかりハマりましてアタマがヒートアップ（笑）。まぁほどほどの集中力で、ゆったり気味に取り組んでいきたいです。さてっと・・・。

【While the Bears Are Away／Cooling Down the Heat of Mac Work】

This photo shows the scenery along my morning walk yesterday. It captures the “inner mountain range” view of Sapporo visible from the park path ascending upstream along the Kotoni Hassamu River from Yamate in Sapporo’s Nishi Ward. The blue sky and spring-like clouds create quite an aesthetic scene.
Though Sapporo continues to see “snow just before spring,” the mountain range’s appearance at this time of year is truly lovely.
…However, I’ve been avoiding walks in this direction since last summer. As you know, brown bear sightings have been frequently reported, and this photo area is a “at your own risk” zone. Judging that the bears are still hibernating, I strategically chose this walking path, figuring it’s a case of “when the cat’s away…”
After the heavy winter snow, some melting had progressed, and the walking path underfoot was gradually improving. Or so I thought, but it wasn’t that simple. Everywhere, there were narrow “human footprint trails” like animal paths. Step slightly off to the side, and you’re guaranteed to be covered in snow.
For an elderly person like me, it’s a narrow path demanding both sturdy legs and sharp attention.
So, it was a walk that brought me a bit closer to nature after a long time. Now, I wonder how this year’s brown bear sightings will unfold. I intend to remain vigilant and not let my guard down.
This kind of nature-observation-focused path selection is meant to be a “recovery from fatigue” from my recent data organization work.
　I’m immersed in extracting and organizing text from numerous documents and printed materials for a project titled “Four Hundred Years of Life Resumes” – a cross-disciplinary exploration of family history and Japanese history, investigating how the “bloodlines of commoners” survived. It’s part of a reportage or “Phoenix”-style romantic inquiry. My head feels a bit overheated, so this is my cool-down.
　Data I had written myself over 40 years ago—where on earth had it been stored? Searching through my Mac’s data areas yielded nothing; the digital data was gone.
Ah, the classic maritime disaster of information.
I reluctantly considered scanning printed materials and running them through OCR, but recently, Mac’s “Photos” app has gained the ability to extract text. And it’s standard OS functionality, no less.
　Once I started, it required careful work, but I managed to clear it up bit by bit.
This really boosts work efficiency. I got completely hooked and my head started overheating (laugh). Well, I’ll aim to tackle it with moderate concentration, taking it easy. Right then…
