戦国期の渡辺了（勘兵衛）が禄高２万石で戦国大名・藤堂高虎にスカウトされ
藤堂家が今治・伊予を領地としたときにかれを南予・大洲の城代とした。
戦国の頃は石田三成と島左近のように野戦指揮官・戦闘専門職の武士を
必ずしも軍事の才でのし上がったとは言えない大名家はスカウトした。
そういうものとして藤堂高虎と渡辺了（勘兵衛）の関係はあったのだろう。
その後、主従が衝突した大阪城攻めの経緯などをみると
渡辺勘兵衛には戦国大名・藤堂高虎の戦略眼補佐役の才は認められない。
やはり野戦の現場指揮官というのがかれの分限だったのだろう。
大きな政治判断も含め政戦の総合判断力で動くべき藤堂高虎にしてみると、
自分の野戦指揮官としての「名を挙げる」ことにのみ異常に執着する部下は
戦場では危険ですらあったというのは理解できるところ。
ただし現場指揮官の「武勇」では高名だった渡辺勘兵衛をゲットして
ミエとしての藤堂家の評判が諸侯の間で高まった効果はあっただろう。
しかしその程度の効能で「２万石か・・・」と思う部分は理解できる。

こういう戦闘技術者人材「市場」のなかで高名になることは
渡辺勘兵衛のような成功者を生み出す結果になっていた。
しかし関ヶ原、大阪城攻めの段階では徳川家勝利の決定力はむしろ
本多忠信のような知謀家・謀略家に移っていたのが実態だっただろう。
徳川家でも本多忠勝などの軍事専門家は中枢から遠ざかっていたといわれる。
渡辺勘兵衛と藤堂高虎が主従関係にあった戦国末期の時期、
主は高名な将をゲットしたというミエ、従者は自分の軍歴というミエ、
そういういわば「はったり」で成り立つサムライ社会を見るように思う。

上の図は渡辺勘兵衛の屋敷地と推定される区画図。
この地方でもっとも風光明媚な名勝地・臥龍地区をほぼ独占しているけれど
軍事への関心という以上に自分一個の欲望、ミエに従順な立地選択と思える。
武士道とは死ぬことと見つけたり、とは葉隠の慧眼だけれど、
この立地選択・生き方からは、武士道とはミエと見つけたり、と思えるのは

きのうはウクライナ戦争でロシア側による原発への攻撃というショッキングなニュース。
現代戦争では危機は一気に世界に及ぶのだということが明白にさらけ出された。
もし世界でも最大級といわれるウクライナの原発が破壊されれば
その被害は全ヨーロッパに及ぶ。チェルノブイリ事故の10倍の影響とアナウンス。
この原発攻撃について世界中からの非難が集中したのは当然。
対応に即応感が感じられない岸田政権も比較的早くに官房長官が非難を発表した。
一方事態が発生し世界に報道された3/4午前２時時点から、ロシア側の発表がなく
ロイター電3/4-19:40配信としてようやく、ロシア国防省の発表がなされた。
この間のタイムロス、17時間。
発表ではザポロジエ原発攻撃は2/28段階でロシア側が侵略して管理していたが

最悪のカタストロフへのかすかな理性判断はあるかもと希望したい。
しかし問題はタイムロスの17時間余り。
戦争の指揮命令系統、あきらかな兵站の破綻ぶりなどをみると
現代戦争にとって不可欠とみなせる「世論情報戦」への感覚が乏しい。
ロシアには周到な用意や作戦計画があるようには見られない。
今回のウクライナ戦争は現代の戦争がどういった「戦い」になるのかを
きわめて明示的に開示してくれていると思う。
戦争は始めるときに「どう終わらせるか」をしっかり見通しておく必要がある、
とよく言われるけれど、この点でロシアの破綻は明らかだと思う。
国連常任理事国という資格だけは剥奪してほしい。
第２次世界大戦の結果での世界体制などすでに危険だと思える。

きのうも経営者の友人と話していたけれど、
こういった情勢下での日々の事業活動の判断基準についてだった。
感染症の進行状況という底流の上での政治軍事の世界的混乱。
結局は日々「できることをやる」という原点回帰型でしょうね。

四国村野外展示で教えられた存在として「義倉」があります。
北海道の人間としてはこういう建築施設は見たことがなかった。
義倉という漢字をみて大体が想像できるように用途としては
飢饉のときにそなえて非常用の食物を蓄える目的だったとされています。
そのこと自体は社会保障の考え方のマザーと思える。

義倉の出自は以下のようなWikipedia記述、理解が一般的。

日本に導入されたのが律令国家体制導入の時期と重なって、
その後衰退したものが、江戸期幕府権力の強制でまた盛んに造営された。
どうも儒教とワンセット、儒教思想を肯定する大きな「納得材料」として
社会的な意味を持って維持管理されてきたように捉えられる。
このようにありがたい備えも指示されている皇帝さまだから
ひれ伏して従順に従って命令には決して逆らってはいけない、みたいな。
その理念に社会的意義はあるけれど「不正や財政への流用」という
権力悪の温床にもなっただろうことが容易に想像できる。

こういう存在と縁遠いと感じるのだけれど、
四国など神代の時代からの歴史集積のある地域では
「飢饉」という社会経験知が大きく存続してきているのだと教えてくれる。
こういう社会思想がそのまま建築的に存続していることにも
深く驚かされる思いであります。建築と人間社会の関わりの大きな一側面。

この高知の土蔵訪問したのはまだ正月気分の時期。
展示施設として門松の飾りが各展示空間で見られていましたが、
ひときわ目立っていたのがこの施設でした。

高知県高岡郡檮原町の門松は家の表の道路に立松だけではなく、
竹や梅も添えて「松竹梅」として縁起を担いでいます。
根本には樫の木の「割り木」を円形に取り囲むようにかけています。
この割り木のことを「サイワイギ」「オサイワイ」などと呼びます。
門松には注連縄を張り、縄にはモミの種のついた稲ワラの束をつるします。
竹で作ったクワや杓の模型も飾るとされている。
こうした飾り物は豊作を祭神に祈る農家としての願いを込めたもの。
先日紹介した例でも松ではなく樫の木に注連縄をかけていた住宅があったけれど
四国の民俗として樫の木は一種独特の樹種とされているようです。
写真では土蔵のなまこ壁を背景にして飾り付けられているけれど、
素朴な日本的民俗性に思わずほっこりとさせられる。

その下の写真は土蔵に敷設された「番屋」の様子。
こちらは本宅に対して隠居屋と離れ座敷を兼ねていたようで立派なしつらえ。
今日の高齢化社会とは違って隠居とは言っても
たぶん50代後半〜60代の数年間が想定されていたのでしょう。
立派な土蔵を抱きかかえているかのようで面白い。
次の世代に経済主体としての役割を譲った隠居について
日本のひとつの知恵として一種の社会保障制度だったのでしょうか。
最後の写真は左官仕上げの塗り壁漆喰の加工の様子。
技術職としての技量が誇らしげに感じさせられます。
北海道の現代住宅ではいわゆる塗り壁のような仕上げは少なくなってきて
もっぱらサイディング、内壁ではビニールクロス仕上げ。
やはり塗り壁仕上げには、手業の誇らしさが感じられ
長い時間での風合いなどが特徴的で、魅力が深く迫ってきますね。

さてロシア−ウクライナ情勢。

本日は住宅ネタを離れて世界情勢についての考察篇。
年齢を重ねてきた住宅ジャーナリズムとしては古民家探訪から
現代に生き続けている先人の住まいと暮らしの知恵を発掘するのが
いわばライフワークになってきているのですが、
やはり戦争勃発という情勢では、いのちの危機感が本能的に働いてくる。
いま危機にあるウクライナの人々と連帯していたい。

いまや世界の憎悪を一身に集めているロシアの愚か極まる独裁者。
世界の資本主義の側で唯一最大の「抑止力」とされる
金融世界市場からロシアを排除するという決定が近日中になされるとの報道。
1枚目の図はテレビ東京からの画面ショット。
2番目の画面はロイター社による日本語Twitter画面。
今回の危機でEU内でバルト３国などから対抗策として発議され
ドイツの反対などで棚ざらしになっていた金融「核兵器」が発動するという。
ロシアの経済活動決済手段が封じ込められることで、
事実上、包括的に世界の金融市場から退場させられることになる。
ドイツがなぜその発動に抵抗を示していたのか？要するにエネルギー問題。
原発から自然エネルギー発電へ急激にエネルギー政策シフト変換してきたが
結果としては、石炭火力と比べて「多少」脱炭素視点で「クリーン」とされる
ロシアの天然ガスにドイツ経済が完全に依存してしまい、
