\u3000During my recent trip to Tohoku, I had various conversations with acquaintances, and one topic in particular caught my interest.
\n\u201cWhen discussing clients\u2019 preferences for their living spaces, the easiest place to start is choosing a TV.\u201d
\nI can see why. Generally, when building a new home or renovating, it\u2019s common to install a new TV.
\n\u201cOh, really? So, what\u2019s that like?\u201d
\n\u3000\u201cFor me, Sony is the only choice for TVs, and I explain why to build rapport (laughs).\u201d
\n\u201cHuh? What\u2019s that about? Do you categorize users based on the characteristics of different TV manufacturers?\u201d
\n\u201cWhether we\u2019re on the same page about this point becomes the foundation for shaping their preferences for the rest of the space.\u201d

\n\u3000For people of my generation, it was hard to really imagine the kind of \u201cvibe\u201d associated with different TV manufacturers. Most brands seemed pretty much the same, so the correlation between brand \u201cpreferences\u201d and living spaces was something I\u2019d never really noticed before.
\n\u3000It wasn\u2019t until I heard that I started re-exploring the relationship between media consumption and living spaces (laughs).
\n\u3000Then, yesterday, the latest data from NHK\u2019s 2025 Survey on People\u2019s Daily Lives was released. Here\u2019s an AI summary:
\n\u3000~According to the latest data released by the NHK Broadcasting Culture Research Institute, the percentage of people who watch TV live for 15 minutes or more on weekdays is on a downward trend across all age groups. In particular, among those in their 30s and younger, the number of viewers has fallen below 50%, highlighting a clear shift away from TV among younger generations and a generational gap.
