\u3000As society ages, various factors of \u201csocial transformation\u201d are emerging. As I myself grow older, I\u2019m becoming increasingly aware of these changes.
\nHaving spent my entire career in fields like advertising and publishing, it\u2019s become second nature for me to use my own experiences as a starting point to explore \u201cthe future direction of society\u2019s interests\u201d (laughs).
\n\u3000In this context, one area that strikes me as significant is the idea that as more people begin to view their own \u201clived\u201d experiences with a certain degree of relativity, interest in the \u201cpast lives\u201d of ancestors and relatives who are genetically close to them will likely grow.
\n\u3000And in today\u2019s world\u2014especially in the field of information\u2014I am amazed by the sheer volume of accumulated data, which has deepened at a pace that feels like a generation\u2019s leap.
\n\u3000When I combine these two factors, I feel that a new area\u2014one that has not received much attention until now\u2014begins to emerge.
\n\u3000In my case, since many of my relatives have a strong interest in \u201cancestral research,\u201d I am able to make use of that accumulated information. Furthermore, by mobilizing my \u201cfield research\u201d instincts\u2014honed through my experience as a publisher\u2014and repeatedly visiting \u201cancestral lands,\u201d the totality of the environment in which our forebears once lived is unearthed.
\nIt becomes possible to grasp both my own life and the past lives of my family lineage objectively, so to speak.
\n\u3000The photo shows materials collected and passed down by my relatives (back side) alongside regional historical data that allows for an objective evaluation of them. My relatives\u2019 materials strongly reflect traces of their DNA; they are truly visceral data. \u201cThey made life choices within this kind of reality\u2026\u201d\u2014their very breath seems to emerge from the pages. At the same time, the objective materials serve as evidence of the background and progression of those choices.
\n\u3000In the modern era, this has become possible on a mass scale.
\nUntil now, \u201chistory\u201d has been limited to in-depth studies of popular figures like Nobunaga and Ieyasu, but it has now expanded to include ordinary people, significantly broadening its market appeal. However, the majority of people have not yet realized this.
\nI believe we are now living in such an era. Advances in AI and other technologies also seem likely to provide a strong tailwind for this field.
