\nApproximately four months have passed since my second brother’s strict order to \u201ctake over the family history research.\u201d We held a confirmation meeting for the interim report. I also want to focus on the \u201cfuture potential\u201d of this AI-driven field. …<\/p>\n

\u3000Since my second brother strictly ordered me to continue the \u201cfamily history research\u201d last October, I had another opportunity yesterday to discuss the interim summary and its direction with him. Based on the extensive research conducted by my second brother and my uncle’s faction over the past roughly 400 years, which has meticulously traced the lineage of our family heads, we have been analyzing the \u201clifestyles\u201d and \u201csocial contexts\u201d of each ancestor using our imagination.
\nWe reached a deep agreement on the major direction of this work.
\n\u3000Our conversation then branched out into various topics. It naturally touched on the personalities and distinctive ways of life of each of us six living siblings. We confirmed how these naturally \u201coverlap and resonate\u201d with our ancestors’ footprints. Particularly, commonalities in personality traits were highlighted and shared.
\n\u3000There is a substantive common ground between the living DNA individuals and the results of exploring our ancestors’ deeds. Of course, there are positive aspects, but also overwhelmingly aspects that make one want to \u201crepent.\u201d As ordinary people sharing DNA, both sides commonly seen in ordinary Japanese people are, naturally, clearly discernible. For us living now, it is only natural that our duty to future generations is to expand the good aspects and correct the bad.
\n\u3000Regarding our family’s relationship with society as human DNA, the outcomes varied significantly across different historical periods. Our lineage’s painful \u201cpast life\u201d memories include being victims twice during the Edo period’s transition from moderation to its later stages, facing the social contradictions of peasant uprisings. Yet, from there emerged a desperate flow of various escape strategies.
\nObjectively speaking, such \u201cpast lives\u201d share a commonality with our own present selves.
\n\u3000As we gradually try to \u201cput it all together,\u201d we’ve discussed whether such \u201cDNA history records\u201d could serve as \u201cbookmarks\u201d for how later generations live their lives. With a bit of a wry smile (laugh).
\nWe’re also realizing that tools like AI can be leveraged for this kind of deep digging. Furthermore, empirical verification is becoming possible using preserved historical documents and records stored in local histories across regions, opening up vast potential.
