\u3000The weight management record information stored in my computer. Oh, it’s so graphic (laughs). This kind of information stimulates my sense of shame more than exposing my face.
\n\u3000It is said that Kenji Miyazawa (1896 – 1933) stared at \u201cmy hands\u201d in the face of the reality that life was not getting any easier no matter how hard he worked.
\n\u3000Kenji Miyazawa, whose literary works have remained in the memories of Japanese people for a long time, died at a young age of 37 years. In contrast, he has already passed the 70-year mark, so his longevity is even greater than that of Kenji Miyazawa. I realize that I have been helped by the modern age.
\n\u3000I have started working on losing weight, and the results are finally starting to show. From the maximum weight of 84.5 kg in the last 13 years, the latest weight is 73.6 kg, which is a decrease of 10.9 kg. That’s about a 13% reduction in percentage. It is interesting to me that my weight has fluctuated quite a bit during this period, and there are some signs of this change.
\n\u3000Yesterday, we went to the Hokkaido Medical Center of the National Hospital Organization together as a couple, and the doctor in charge of my health gave us a scientific analysis of my health situation based on the results of blood tests, ultrasound examinations, and x-ray examinations. During the interview, 80% of the doctor’s attention was focused on my wife, who accompanied me, rather than on me, and I was like a piece of sashimi (laugh). I was like a raw fish (laugh). I guess he was so earnest in his concern for my health that his gaze was sharp. I am deeply grateful.
\n\u3000Various figures showed a marked improvement as my weight decreased. I am 174 cm tall, so my \u201cheight minus weight\u201d has finally dropped below 100, and although I continue to walk a little less than 10,000 steps a day, this weight loss is mainly due to the \u201cimprovement of my diet. The major change in my diet to a vegetable-centered diet has been a major factor, and my wife’s efforts have been extremely important in this change. Since this is a \u201cdaily\u201d thing, it makes me realize that \u201ccontinuity is power.
\n\u3000While some of my friends are finding it increasingly difficult to maintain their health due to factors beyond their control, I feel very lucky and fortunate that their steady efforts are showing up in numbers. I would like to continue to follow my doctor’s precise judgment and continue to manage my health with the aim of reaching the weight level of my teens and 20s.
