\nI was anxious about the Mac environment maintenance efforts. I immediately contacted Apple support. I received various insights that gave me hope for a long life (laughs). Thank you for your help.<\/p>\n

I have been using Macs for about 30 years now. I was surprised when I just did the math (laughs).
\nI am naturally aging by that amount, so the “past data” that I need to refer to is getting stacked up. However, the disk space of the Mac itself is becoming lighter and lighter. The user’s past information assets are accumulated, but the data area is minimized. Such divergence is progressing.
\nMy main Mac is a 13-inch, M2, 2022 MacBookPro with a disk capacity of 250 GB. I have to save the stored data on an external drive, create an “alias” for each data and link it to the desktop to handle the data.
\nHowever, after almost 30 years of history, there is a large amount of “residue from the past,” and although I really need to “clean up,” I keep putting it off because it is so tedious. The main disk is lightweight, so even though I try to focus only on macOS data, applications, user data, etc. that I really need to keep, the “free space” is running out, and finally it is less than 10%.
\nThis is the source of trouble when I am working on it.
\nSo yesterday, I finally decided to work on it, but as expected, I am not up to date with the latest knowledge. So, I immediately decided to get support from Apple.
\nWe had three support staff members who took turns to help us. They took turns to help me, from a section that was a general information on everything to a section specializing in “photos” and finally a system representative.
\nIt was up to them to support us directly after receiving a “screen share” from the other party.
\nAs a result, we agreed to a 50GB iCloud contract and 130 yen per month to migrate our photo data and streamline other systems, so they restored our “free space” to about 28.8%.
\nThe Apple representative also gave me his endorsement, saying that at this level, trouble would be avoided. We are very happy about that.<\/p>\n

We have been working and doing other activities in that environment for 30 years while the population is aging, so we are inevitably overwhelmed with day-to-day matters. Environmental maintenance is both extremely important and difficult. It would be appropriate to humbly accept that and ask for this kind of support.
