【梅雨時の日本列島　旅行けば・・・】


　月曜日９日から関西〜中国地方に移動してきています。
　かつては「梅雨のない北海道」と言われてきましたが、最近はだんだん「蝦夷梅雨」か、と思えるような季節に変化してきていると感じますが、それでも空気の乾燥感はあって、晴れ間が出れば爽快感のある天気に恵まれる。そういう土地に起居していると梅雨時の関東以西の世界は遠い感覚。
　わたしも前後10年間くらいは東京・神奈川で暮らしていたので、梅雨時のアジサイの美感・質感は記憶の底にあるのだけれど、やはり北海道の爽快な６月に慣れ親しんで生きてきたので、すっかり雨続きの水分過剰ぶりに驚かされるまで、北海道人としての感覚に先祖帰りしていることを実感。
　たまたま所用もあってこちらに来ているのですが、久しぶりの梅雨の体感。クルマで移動していても時折強烈なスコール状の降雨。なにより外を歩いていると足先が湿っぽく感じられてくる。高齢期になってくると靴もすっかり底厚なスポーツ系のシューズ選択になってくるので、この梅雨時は困ります。
　写真は最近、歴史家の磯田道史氏が監修していることで人気が盛り上がりつつある「岡山城」天守の装飾瓦。氏はわたしも大好きな歴史家で、NHK「英雄たちの選択」でメインのキャスターとたぶん企画構成にも参画されているのではないかと思っていますが、その独自の視点でかれのふるさとのお城を「演出」してくれている。岡山県はこれまで神戸・姫路までの関西圏からやや距離感があって、代表的な「通過」県だったのですが（笑）今回、こういった導きで参観していると非常に興味深い。
　全国の観光にとって歴史の視点は非常に重要な要素だと思いますが、その着眼点について、磯田先生のような比較的に若い意見、見方は今後たいへん重要になると実感できました。こうした着眼点が全国に普及していけばいいと感じました。

　I have been moving to the Kansai – Chugoku region since Monday 9th.
　It used to be called “Hokkaido without a rainy season,” but recently I feel that the season is gradually changing into what might be called the “Ezo rainy season,” but the air still feels dry and we are blessed with refreshing weather when there are sunny intervals. When you live in such a place, the world west of the Kanto region during the rainy season seems distant.
　I lived in Tokyo and Kanagawa for about 10 years before and after the rainy season, so the beauty and texture of hydrangeas during the rainy season is at the bottom of my memory, but I was used to the refreshing June in Hokkaido, and I was surprised by the excessive moisture of the continuous rain. 　I happen to be here on business, but this is the first time in a long time that I have felt the rainy season. Even when I am traveling by car, I sometimes feel intense squalls of rain. Above all, my toes feel damp when I walk outside. In my old age, I have to wear thick-soled sports shoes, which is a problem during the rainy season.
　The photo shows the decorative roof tiles of the keep of Okayama Castle, which has recently become popular due to the supervision of historian Mr. Michifumi Isoda. Mr. Isoda is one of my favorite historians, and I believe that he is the main anchor of NHK’s “Choice of Heroes,” as well as being involved in the planning of the show. Okayama Prefecture has been a typical “transit” prefecture because of its distance from the Kansai region, including Kobe and Himeji (laugh), but it is very interesting to see it from such a guiding point of view.
　I think the historical perspective is a very important element for tourism throughout Japan, and I realized that relatively young opinions and perspectives such as those of Mr. Isoda will become very important in the future. I hope that this point of view will spread throughout Japan.

【一族から輩出の「一遍上人」 伊予河野氏探訪-5】



　わたしは「般若心経」を暗誦できます。なぜか学生時代に学生運動から離脱した当時、このお経の経文を研究して見たいと思って、まったく宗教とは無縁に勝手に書物を読んで学んでいた次第。どうも○○主義というのには、他者否定、強い他者攻撃の思想が強くて、それは結局人間を「悲しくさせる」のではないかという心理を持っていた。そのことから、多くの仏教の宗派を超えて「真言」とされている「般若心経」の明快さに惹かれていったのだと思っています。とくに最後のくだりは強く勇気づけられると思った。
　で、この河野氏からは1239年に「踊り念仏」で有名になった行動的宗教者である一遍上人が出生している。承久の乱（1221年）に際しての河野氏の没落時、一族で仏門に入っていた流れがその後、家門の再生を祈念して「還俗」した一統があって、一遍はこの一統に生まれていた。10歳で一度仏門に入ったけれど、その後還俗して武士になっていた。
以下Wiki記述。 〜一遍は、1221年承久の乱により没落した伊予国の豪族の河野家の次男として1239年に生まれる。1248年に仏門に入り、1251年からは太宰府の聖達上人の元で浄土教を学んだ。1262年に父の訃報を受けると、一度故郷に帰り半僧半俗の生活を続けていたが、1271年に33歳で再出家し、1274年より全ての財産を捨て一族とも別れ 16年間の遊行の旅に出る。〜
　時系列で見ると、この一遍の行動は微妙に「元寇」の歴史進行と重なる。第１回の元寇・文永の役が1274年であり、そして1281年が第２回の弘安の役。この時期に河野氏一族は、弘安の役で大きな勲功をあげた人物もあらわれるなか、一方の一遍は「踊り念仏」という社会運動を行っていることになる。そして一遍は全国への遊行のなかで、承久の乱で没落し奥州・平泉に流されそこで客死した河野氏一族の宗家の立場の祖父・河野通信の墓参も果たしている。
　この時代の世相の中でこのような行動に駆られた人物の内面はどうだったのだろうと妄想が膨らんでくる。非業に倒れた祖父への尊愛は表しながら、一族が家運再興を賭けた元寇での軍事行動には背を向けている。なにやら歴史ドラマと人間ドラマが輻輳していて、NHK大河ドラマにでもなりそうだ。般若心経につづいてライフテーマとして一遍研究もしておく必要があるだろうか？（笑）。

　I can recite the Heart Sutra. For some reason, when I was a student and left the student movement, I wanted to study the text of this sutra, so I took the liberty of reading and studying it without any religious affiliation at all. Apparently, XX-ism has a strong idea of denying others and strongly attacking others, and I had the psychological impression that this would eventually “make” people sad. I believe this is why I was attracted to the clarity of the “Heart Sutra,” which is considered a “true word” that transcends many Buddhist sects. In particular, I found the last passage to be strongly encouraging.
　So, from this Kono clan was born Ippen Shonin, an action-oriented religious leader who became famous for his “Dancing Nembutsu” in 1239. Ippen was born into a lineage in which a member of the Kono clan who had entered Buddhism at the time of the fall of the Kono clan during the Jokyu Rebellion (1221) was later “returned to secularity” in order to pray for the rebirth of the family.
The following is a Wiki description. 〜Ippen was born in 1239 as the second son of the Kono family, a powerful family in Iyo Province that fell during the Jokyu Rebellion in 1221. 1248 he entered Buddhism, and from 1251 studied Pure Land Buddhism under Seidatsu Shonin in Dazaifu. 1262, after his father died, he returned home and lived a half-monk, half-folk life. 1271 In 1271, at the age of 33, he re-entered the priesthood, and from 1274, he left all his possessions and family to embark on a 16-year pilgrimage. ~…
　In chronological order, Ippen’s actions subtly coincide with the progression of the history of the “Genko” invasion. The first “Genko” (Genko) was in 1274, and the second “Kouan” (Kouan) in 1281. During this period, some members of the Kono clan were highly decorated for their deeds during the Koan War, while Ippen was engaged in a social movement called “Odori Nembutsu” (dancing Buddhist chanting). During his travels throughout Japan, Ippen also visited the grave of his grandfather, Kono Tsushin, a member of the Kono clan who had fallen in the Jokyu War and was exiled to Hiraizumi, Oshu, where he died as a guest.
　One can only wonder what was going on inside the mind of a person who was driven to such an action in the midst of the world of this era. While expressing respect and love for his grandfather who had fallen tragically, he turned his back on the military action during the Genko Incursion, in which his family staked its claim to revive the family fortunes. The story is a convergence of historical drama and human drama, and could easily be made into an NHK historical drama. I wonder if I should follow the Hannya Shingyo and study Ippen as a life theme? 【元寇・弘安の役での船戦活躍 伊予河野氏探訪-4】



　1185年当時の源平合戦期で四国の勢力、海軍勢力として源氏軍に大いに寄与したことで河野氏は全国的にも評価されることになったけれど、その後の承久の乱（1221年段階）という30数年後の動乱期には、政治判断を誤って、後鳥羽上皇に味方して敗北することになる。たしかに源平合戦期の結果としての政治体制としては武権は鎌倉幕府にもたらされたけれど、頼朝という対朝廷側との「政治工作窓口」を失った関東武士団には、当時の政治・社会情勢下では勝ち目は少ないと判断したことにうなずける部分もある。
　なんといってもこの時期、政治統治の正統性は京都王権側にあって鎌倉幕府というのは国家体制としてはその軍事の一部門的な存在認識が強かったのだと思われる。そういう情勢のなかでさまざまな多数派工作は容易に想像でき、京都政権側からの「恩賞」の提示も魅力的だっただろうことが想像できる。なんといっても王権側の全国統治感覚からは「伊予国」は枢要的に重要な政治軍事の要衝。名分もあり利益供与の約定もあって、いわば常識的な判断だったのだろう。場合によっては鎌倉幕府的な位置まで朝廷側は河野氏に約束していた可能性もある。
　しかしそうした期待は、鎌倉幕府の京都の一気加勢な攻撃にもろくも陥落し夢と潰えさった。尼将軍とされた北条政子の檄に関東武士が大団結を見せるということが想像すらできなかったのだろう。このあたり、日本史の大きな流れである関東の政治軍事的重要性の拡大についての西国武士たちの鈍感さが感じられる。そういう敗北過程で河野氏は唯一北条氏の女性を迎え入れていた一統が辛うじて血脈を維持した。その後、領地も一部回復・確保できていた。
　そういった政治情勢の中で「元寇」が勃発する。この動乱を奇貨として勢力の回復を意図し、幕命に応えて第２次元寇の弘安の役（1281年）に河野氏は出陣する。源平期から約100年後、家運の上昇をふたたび賭ける海軍戦。
　このブログシリーズでは、元寇についても約１ヶ月前くらいに記載したけれど、第２回の元寇である弘安の役では主戦場は、源平の壇ノ浦と似た「海戦」だったことで、伊予の武家勢力である河野氏には好適な条件だったとも思える。元寇記念館での展示でも、この河野氏が活躍した船戦の様子は、大きく評価されている。
　防衛土塁の長大な構築が、弘安の役の最大の効果を発揮したことはあきらかだけれど、河野氏はむしろその土塁壁の前に陣を張って不退転の決意を表していた。河野の「後ろ築地」として名をはせた。

The Iyo Kono Clan in Action in the Genko and Kouan War
About 100 years after the Gempei period, the Kono Clan had ups and downs in their position, but they took another chance of “naval battles” and risked the rise of their family fortune to take the challenge. …

　In 1185, during the Genpei War, the Kono clan was recognized nationwide for its great contribution to the Minamoto clan’s forces as a power and naval force in Shikoku, but during the subsequent Jokyu Rebellion (1221), a period of upheaval more than 30 years later, they made a political misjudgment and sided with Emperor Go-Toba, losing. It is true that the political system during the Genpei War brought military power to the Kamakura Shogunate, but the Kanto Samurai, who had lost their “window of political maneuvering” with the Imperial Court in the form of Yoritomo, had little chance of winning under the political and social conditions of the time, which is understandable.
　In any case, the legitimacy of political governance at that time rested on the side of the Kyoto royal power, and the Kamakura Shogunate was strongly considered to be a military arm of the state system. Under such circumstances, it is easy to imagine that various majority maneuvers could be easily imagined, and the offer of a “bounty” from the Kyoto regime side must have been attractive. After all, from the sense of ruling the whole country on the royalist side, “Iyo Province” was a pivotal political and military point of importance. It was a common-sense decision, so to speak, because of its prestige and the promise to provide benefits. In some cases, the Imperial Court may have promised the Kono clan a position similar to that of the Kamakura Shogunate.
　However, such expectations were crushed as a dream when the Kamakura Shogunate fell to a single-minded attack on Kyoto. It is likely that they could not even imagine that the Kanto warriors would show great solidarity in response to the proclamation of Hojo Masako, who was considered a nun shogun. In this regard, one can sense the insensitivity of the western samurai to the growing political and military importance of the Kanto region, which is a major trend in Japanese history. In such a process of defeat, the Kono clan was the only lineage to have welcomed a Hojo clan woman, and it barely maintained its lineage. After that, they were able to recover and secure some of their territory.
　In the midst of this political situation, the “Genko” invasion broke out. Intending to use this upheaval as a chance to regain power, the Kono clan responded to the shogunate’s order and went to battle in the second invasion, the Kouan-no-Yakuwari (1281). About 100 years after the Genpei period, the Kono clan once again staked its claim on the rise of its family fortunes in this naval battle.
　In this blog series, I wrote about the Genko about a month ago, but the main battlefield in the second Genko, Koan no Yaku, was a “naval battle” similar to the Dannoura battle in the Genpei period, which seemed to be a suitable condition for the Kono clan, a warrior clan in Iyo. The Kono clan’s success in the naval battle is greatly appreciated in the exhibition at the Genko Kinenkan (Genko Memorial Museum).
　It is clear that the construction of the long defensive earthen mound had the greatest effect during the Kouan-no-Yakuwari, but the Kono clan showed their determination not to retreat by setting up camp in front of the mound wall. It became famous as Kono’s “back-building area.

【源平合戦・壇ノ浦での戦功 伊予河野氏探訪-3】



　さて歴史的には伊予・河野氏は939年の藤原純友の乱の鎮圧にに当たって勢力を拡大した。そして現在の愛媛県松山市善応寺甲428の善応寺周辺を本拠として地歩を固めた。やがてやや南下して現在の松山市の湯築城公園の場所に本拠を定める。地政学的にそこが瀬戸内海海上交通の「要地」となる経済動向を反映したのだと推認出来る。
　そして河野氏が大きく飛躍するのは1180年〜1186年の源平合戦期。源頼朝が兵を挙げた1180年、この伊予の地で平家の中心勢力で国司の代官として権力を掌握していた平維盛を、越智郡にあった国衙（国司の役所）に攻めて、これを討ち果たすという軍事行動を起こした。地方の武士層に基盤を持っていたにも関わらず、遊離して中央の貴族と変わらない政治行動に終始していた平家は、武家層からの反発を受けていたのだと思える。
　そういった地方武家の立場として平家に対して反逆を選択した。しかしこの頃の政治・軍事情勢は混沌としていて、平家に与力する勢力との伊予国内での内乱闘争は激化していたと言われる。
　それまでの貴族による政治体制を承継し、その延長としての政権保持を図っていた平家の政治姿勢に対して、地方の武士層が根強い反感を募らせ、やがて鎌倉幕府という軍事専制体制を支持する流れが優勢になっていった。各地方で農業生産が活発化し経済的に地方の隆盛が見られた、そういう経済的な要因が最も大きかったに違いないでしょう。
　そして源平合戦が瀬戸内海地域に主戦場が転換し、讃岐の「屋島合戦」で源氏方主力・義経軍と河野氏は合流を果たし得意の「海上戦力パワー」を発揮することになる。クライマックスが源平の最終決戦になった壇ノ浦合戦。瀬戸内の海軍戦力・河野氏の潜在力が全面的に発揮されて平家軍は滅亡する。よく言われる「潮目の判断」における海上勢力の伝統的な知見が源氏方を勝利に導いた。
　鎌倉の由比ヶ浜で開かれた戦勝を祝う宴席で、鎌倉幕府は河野氏に対して上座から三番目の席を用意したとされる。いわば論功行賞。宴席では当然、宗和膳に料理が据えられているけれど、その上に席順を表す紙が置かれていて、そこに「三」という墨書が示されていた。河野氏の当主は光栄な扱いと感銘を受けた。その紙を懐中に納めて持ち帰りその「折敷三の字」を河野氏の家紋としたとされている。
　実はわが家にも伝承品としてこの「折敷三の字」が印された江戸期からの宗和膳が残っています。河野氏の流れとしての「三木家」という一種のランドマークと聞かされていた。

The Iyo Kono clan’s success in the battle of Dannoura in the Genpei War: Exploration of the Iyo Kono clan-3
During the Genpei War, the battlefield was shifted to the sea, and the Kono clan’s naval power in the Seto Inland Sea, which knew the “tide line” very well, decided the outcome of the battle. The family crest of Oriziki three characters as a merit award.

　Historically, the Iyo-Kono clan expanded its power after the suppression of the Fujiwara no Juntomo Rebellion in 939. The Kono clan consolidated its power in the area around Zen’oji Temple, 428 Zen’oji Kou, Matsuyama City, Ehime Prefecture, as its base. Eventually, they moved slightly south and established their headquarters at the present site of Yuzuki Castle Park in Matsuyama City, Ehime Prefecture. It can be inferred that this location reflected the geopolitical and economic trends that made it a “strategic point” for maritime traffic in the Seto Inland Sea.
　The Kono clan made a great leap forward during the Genpei wars between 1180 and 1186. In 1180, when Minamoto no Yoritomo raised an army against Taira no Koremori, the central power of the Heike clan, who had seized power as a deputy provincial governor in Iyo, the Kono clan took military action to attack and defeat him at his office in Ochi-gun, a provincial governor’s office. It seems that the Heike, despite having a base in the local warrior class, were opposed by the warrior class because of their detachment and political behavior that was no different from that of the central aristocracy.
　As the position of such local warrior class, they chose to rebel against the Heike. However, the political and military situation at this time was chaotic, and it is said that the civil war within Iyo against the forces that were in favor of the Heike was intensifying.
　The local samurai class developed a deep-seated antipathy toward the political stance of the Heike, who had succeeded the aristocratic political system and were attempting to maintain power as an extension of that system. The most important factor must have been economic, as agricultural production became more active in each region and the provinces prospered economically.
　The main battleground of the Genpei wars shifted to the Seto Inland Sea region, and the main forces of the Minamoto clan, the Yoshitsune forces and the Kono clan, joined forces at the Battle of Yashima in Sanuki, demonstrating their “sea power”. The climax of the battle was the final battle between the Genji and Heike clans at Dannoura. The Heike forces were destroyed by the full display of the potential of the Kono clan, the naval power of the Seto Inland Sea. The traditional knowledge of maritime power in “judging the tide,” as it is often called, led the Minamoto clan to victory.
　At a banquet held on the beach of Yuhigahama in Kamakura to celebrate the victory, the Kamakura Shogunate is said to have offered the Kono clan the third seat from the top. It is said that the Kamakura Shogunate offered the Kono clan the third seat from the top. At the banquet, the food was naturally served on the sohwa-zen, but on top of the sohwa-zen was a piece of paper indicating the order of seating, with the number “san” written in ink. 【令和のコメ騒動と政局の動向】


　本日は連載企画は一時休止。で、国民生活の基本中の基本である「コメの値段」。こんなにわかりやすい生活と政治の問題はない。なにがどうであれ、右だとか左だとかの観念論ではなく、民の暮らしに直結する問題。
　その異常な価格上昇に対して抑制策をどうしたらいいのか、くらいの問題は政治のテーマとして考えればすぐにでも解決可能なのではないかと思っていた。コメは日本の基盤そのもの。その全過程に渡って官僚システムがさまざまに関与してコントロールしているという「信頼」を持っていた。
　その信頼が大きく揺らいで、しかも今回はマスコミもまったく用を果たしていなかった。こんなにも開かれた社会であるのに、その「市場価格」構造を分析する能力をまったく持っていないことが暴露されてしまった。いったいなにが「社会の木鐸」なのだろうか？
　農水省の大臣という存在は、これまでは「利権構造」の管理者という役割だったことが明白になって来た。とくにひどかったのが備蓄米の最初の放出劇だった。さまざまに理由を付けて、それすらも高値になっていくように政策誘導されていたと断じられても仕方がないだろう。
　それに対して、あまりにも当たり前すぎる「政治介入」方針で新大臣・小泉某が古米の直販方針を打ち出したことで、一気に2,000円程度の価格が市中で実現することとなった。ちょっと考えれば誰でもわかる道理。もとより日本のコメはその程度（２−３年）の保存期間で味覚的に大きく低下することは考えにくく、現実に消費者はどんどん低価格の古米を争って購入する趨勢が広がっていくことになった。
　そうした情勢になって来てようやく流通事業者間の「スポット価格」が最高値49,000円から7,000円も下がってきているという現実が報道された。〜コメ農家　涌井徹さん「これが毎日コメが取引されているデータです。（60キロ）4万9000円が4万2000円。備蓄米の話が始まってから7000円下がっていますね。完全に潮目が変わった。一気に下がった」6/07テレ朝NEWS/ 〜
既存の流通機構のなかで、このような「投機的」な動きを大きく許容する環境が存在したことが、ようやく開示されてきた。大臣がチェンジすることでこういったわかりやすい展開が始まってしまった。参院選を直前に控えて、このことがどう影響していくのか。どうも政局転換の起爆力になりそうだと思える。

　Today, we pause for a series of projects. So, the price of rice, the most basic of all the basics of people’s lives. There is no other issue that is so easy to understand in terms of life and politics. No matter what it is, it is not a matter of right or left ideology, but an issue that directly affects the lives of the people.
　I thought that the problem of how to control the abnormal rise in the price of rice could be solved immediately by considering the issue as a political theme. Rice is the very foundation of Japan. We had “confidence” that the bureaucratic system was involved in various ways in controlling the entire process.
　That trust has been shaken dramatically, and in this case, the media has been completely ineffective. The fact that the bureaucratic system is so open and transparent has been exposed by the fact that it is completely incapable of analyzing the “market price” structure of the system. What in the world makes him a “bellwether of society”?
　It has become clear that the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries has been the administrator of the “interest structure” until now. Particularly egregious was the initial release of stockpiled rice. It is no wonder that even the stockpiled rice was induced by policy to become more expensive for a variety of reasons.
　In contrast, a certain Koizumi, the new minister, announced a policy of direct sales of old rice with a policy of “political intervention,” which was too obvious, and the price of about 2,000 yen was realized in the market at once. Anyone who thinks about it can understand this. In fact, it is unlikely that the taste of Japanese rice will decline significantly after only a few years of storage (2-3 years), and consumers are now competing to buy low-priced used rice.
　It was only after such a situation emerged that the “spot price” among distributors finally dropped by 7,000 yen from its highest price of 49,000 yen, according to media reports. ~Toru Wakui, a rice farmer: “This is the data on rice being traded every day. (60 kg) 49,000 yen is now 42,000 yen. It has dropped 7,000 yen since the stockpiling of rice began. The tide has completely turned. It has dropped all at once.”

It is finally being disclosed that within the existing distribution structure, there was an environment that allowed such “speculative” movements to a large extent. A change in the minister has started this kind of understandable development. How will this affect the upper house elections coming up? Apparently, it is likely to be the catalyst for a political shift.

【瀬戸内海での武装勢力の成立 伊予河野氏探訪-2】




　日本の交易経済にとって瀬戸内海はその始原期の主要な舞台。なんといってもアジア世界の「フロンティア」として機能し続けてきた日本列島においては畿内地域が中核的な位置にあって、そこへの物資の流入がいわば「大動脈」であり続けてきた。その役割を担っていたのが瀬戸内海の水上交通。そのなかでも伊予国は枢要な地域だった。律令体制の「国」の分類でも大国とされ、その「伊予国守」はきわめて高位の官職とされ続けてきた。さまざまな軍事・政治の結果として源義経が任命されていたのがこの官職だったことでも知られる。
　公地公民という現実にそぐわない律令体制の桎梏から、徐々に有力貴族や寺社勢力による荘園という名の私有地化が進行して、地方ではその矛盾点が露わになって承平天慶の乱、藤原純友の反乱が勃発する。瀬戸内海では海賊による被害が頻発。従七位下・伊予の掾の藤原純友は海賊の討伐に当たっていたが、承平6年（936年）頃には伊予国日振島を根拠に逆に1000艘を組織する海賊の頭目となっていたとされる。
　政治制度が現実にまったくそぐわず、海賊行為によって経済活動も悲鳴を上げる。そういうなかで武装勢力が各地で勃興してそのもとで治安が回復するという流れになっていく。そういうなかで伊予国では河野氏が、この地域の制海権を掌握して武権を確立していくことになった。そのときに勝ち残るには城塞の優秀さが求められた。海上交通の要路と交易上の要地を抑える武権にとって「難攻不落」という要素はいちばんの要素。こういう武力の優劣になってしまえば、海賊なのか取り締まり側なのか、そのことは大きな違いにはならない。あとは、政府側との交渉力だけの問題だったことだろう。まことにわかりやすい「勝てば官軍」の世界。
　イラスト図を見ていて面白かったのは、こういう時代に大型の木造建築が軒を連ねて、一種の「都市構造」を遠景させること自体が、そこに「武権」があると知らしめただろうこと。やがて城郭建築に昇華していくいわば権力と建築・都市の関係が明示されていると思えたこと。現代世界でこういった木造建築をみるのと、このような田園風景の中で屹立する木造建築群は、剥き出しの象徴性を持っていたのだと気付かされる。　＜明日以降に続く＞

　The Seto Inland Sea was a major stage for Japan’s trading economy in its earliest days. The Seto Inland Sea was the main stage of Japan’s trade economy from its earliest days. The Kinai region was at the core of the Japanese archipelago, which had continued to function as a “frontier” for the Asian world, and the flow of goods into the region had been a “major artery,” so to speak. The Seto Inland Sea, a water transportation system, played this role. Iyo Province was one of the most important areas in the Seto Inland Sea. Iyo Province was considered a major province under the Ritsuryo system, and its “Iyo provincial governor” continued to be an extremely high-ranking official position. 　The political system did not match the reality at all, and piracy caused economic activities to scream. Under such circumstances, armed forces sprang up in various areas, and under these armed forces, public order was restored. In Iyo Province, the Kono clan seized control of the seas in the region and established military power. In order to survive, the Kono clan had to have excellent fortifications. The most important factor for a military power that controlled the key routes of maritime traffic and trading routes was to be “impregnable. When it comes to the superiority of military power, whether one is a pirate or a policeman does not make a big difference. The only thing that mattered was the ability to negotiate with the government side. It is truly an easy-to-understand win-win world.
　What was interesting about the illustration was that in such an era, large wooden buildings lined up in a row, creating a kind of “urban structure” in the distance, would have made it known that there was “military power” in the area. It was a clear indication of the relationship between power, architecture, and the city, which would eventually sublimate into castle architecture. When I look at these wooden structures in the modern world, I realize that the wooden buildings soaring in such a rural landscape had a bare symbolism.　＜To be continued from tomorrow.

【ルーツ伝承への旅路 伊予河野氏探訪-1】


さて本格的に仕事生活からの「総括」期に差し掛かってきて、NEXTの「生き方」として表現の領域に入ってきつつあります。そういう初源として「作家と住空間」（文末に案内）の発刊があったのですが、そこを起点としてさまざまな表現の探求に向かってきています。これはきわめて「個人的」な人生航路なのですが、行きがかり上、書き続けてきたこの個人ブログでも並行して関連的なテーマを書いてみたいと思います。
　折に触れてわたしは「ルーツ探索」みたいなことを行ってきています。本州から開拓移住してきた家系の第３世代として、もちろん自分自身は北海道に骨を埋めることを決定（けつじょう）しているものですが、やはり自分自身の生命というものを客観的に考えれば、そのルーツのことに思いを致すのは当然のことでしょう。父母という存在が自分を生み育ててくれたことに深い感謝の念を持ち、そして祖父母への感謝の念を持つ。そうした「血脈」にリスペクトの思いを持つのはひととして自然。
　そういう暗夜行路の道筋の探索から徐々に愛媛県・道後温泉近くの伊予河野氏という存在に興味を持ってきています。四国については加齢してきてからの夫婦旅の地域としてよく行くようになって、そのなかでこの地域の歴史的な経緯を知るようになって来ています。やはり日本語が通じて、情報交換の質がきわめて深い地域はうれしい。
　おっと、最近の拙ブログは「前書き」が長め（笑）。反省。
　図版は、「道後公園誇れるまちづくり推進協議会」発行の冊子「湯築城物語」からのものです。文中に「大いにPRして」という要旨が書かれてありますので、利用させていただきます。香川元太郎氏の作画。この絵は794〜1191年の平安時代の伊予地方の港の様子を想像復元したものとのこと。
　説明では「当時、船への物資の積み下ろしは，潮の干満を利用して行われた」とある。当時の瀬戸内海交通の主力であった船舶について、その構造などが活写されていて、目を奪われる。船から港で荷物の搬出入するのに、潮がそこそこ満ちている時間に着くように計って船を着けて干上がって行くのを待って荷物を扱っていた。おお、であります。わかりやすい。そうするとそれに合わせた生活時間ライフサイクルがひとびとの経済活動の大きなメルクマール（指標）だったことが自明になってくる。遠い先人たち・血縁につながる人たちはこのようなライフスタイルだったのかと、圧倒的な「共感」が湧き上がってきます。　＜明日以降に続く＞

A Journey to the Traditions of the Iyo Kono Clan: Exploration of the Iyo Kono Clan-1
A desire to trace the “origin” of my own life. Such a quest has been absorbed by the beaches of Iyo (laughs). Oh, you finally landed on the shore. …

Now that we are approaching the period of “summing up” from our work life, we are entering the realm of expression as a “way of life” for NEXT. The publication of “Writers and Living Space” (see the end of this document) was the starting point of this process, and from there we have been moving toward the exploration of various forms of expression. This is a very “personal” life path, but I would like to write about related themes in parallel on my personal blog, which I have continued to write as a matter of course.
　From time to time, I have been on a sort of “roots search. As a third generation immigrant from Honshu, I have decided to bury my roots in Hokkaido, but when I think objectively about my own life, it is natural for me to think about my roots. We are deeply grateful to our parents for giving birth to us, and we are also grateful to our grandparents. It is natural for people to have respect for such a “bloodline.
　From my search for such a “dark night” path, I have gradually become interested in the Iyo Kono clan near Dogo Onsen, Ehime Prefecture. As I have gotten older, I have been traveling to Shikoku more often as a married couple, and have come to know the historical background of this region. I am glad to see an area where Japanese is spoken and where the quality of information exchange is extremely deep.
　Oops, my blog recently has a long “preface” (lol). I regret it.
　The illustration is from the booklet “Yuzuki Castle Story” published by the “Dogo Park Proud Town Development Promotion Council. The text contains the gist of the book, “Promote it greatly,” so I will use it. Drawing by Mototaro Kagawa. This painting is an imaginary reconstruction of a port in the Iyo region during the Heian period (794-1191).
　The explanation says, “In those days, loading and unloading of goods to and from ships was done by using the ebb and flow of the tide. The structure of the ships, which were the mainstay of Seto Inland Sea traffic in those days, is vividly depicted in the museum, and is a fascinating sight to behold. The author explains, “The ships were loaded and unloaded at the port, waiting for the tide to rise and then unloaded at the port. Oh, that’s right. It is easy to understand. It becomes obvious that the life cycle of people’s economic activities was a major indicator of the time of their lives. I felt an overwhelming sense of empathy for the lifestyles of my distant ancestors and those who were related to me by blood.　.

【さっぽろ円山公園の自然アートの新作発見！】



　昨日、しばらく懸案になっていた案件について一段落。個人企業とは言え、いろいろな社会的責任に対しては、なにより誠実対応が肝心。ほっ、であります。
　ということですが、毎朝の散歩道inさっぽろ円山公園では最近、写真のような「自然利用」アート作品を発見。わたしのブログでも何回かこういう作品に触れてきていますが、これまでは雪の時期にそれを利用した作品と遭遇することが多かったので、イマドキ時期というのはちょっと驚かされた。
　円山公園の地下鉄駅からの公園入口にほど近い歩道上で、なにやら数人規模での「人だかり」がみられ、歓声が上がっているではありませんか。その人たちの会話情報を側聞して、その場所に「野次馬」的に夫婦で直行。そうしたら写真のようなアート作品と遭遇した次第です。まことに圧巻！
　上の作品はこの時期、風に舞っているシラカバやポプラの綿毛を丹念に集めて「白地」を構成してのパンダとおぼしき作品。アクセントに赤色の花があしらわれて、さらに「画竜点睛」のように木の実が目になっていた。なにより、白い花粉をこのように丹念に集合させるには相当の執念が必要でしょう、すごい。
　下の作品はこの時期、足許に散乱している木枝のクズを丹念に拾い集めて「リス」を造形。こちらでも赤い花で尻尾を形取って、そして木の実を目に納めて仕上げている。
　仏像制作などでも目の表現は非常に執着する部分でしょうが、木の実を使われると、おおっと、その着眼に深く納得させられる。って、自然のものを拾い集めて利用することで「以心伝心」性が非常に高まる。すばらしい。
　さすがに毎度楽しませていただいているので、すこし作家についてWEBで調べたら以下のような情報。要旨引用。
　〜作品は公園・施設の案内サインやパンフレットなどのデザイナーとして活躍する田中宏美さんが手掛けた。仕事の息抜きに自宅近くの公園を散策していたところ、あるシーンが頭に浮かんだ。「ここで雪だるまが遊んでいたら楽しいと思って手足のついた雪の男の子をベンチに座らせてみた」。人間のように帽子とマフラーも身につけた「雪ボーイ」を主人公に雪に覆われた冬の公園でのストーリーを想像しながら次々と作品にした。 〜ということ。
　今回の作品もいかにも「もののあはれ」的で、北海道での日本人ハートを感じさせてくれました。深く感謝。

New Nature Art in Sapporo Maruyama Park!

　Yesterday, we settled a matter that has been pending for some time. Even though we are a private company, it is important for us to respond to our social responsibilities with sincerity. I am relieved.
　On that note, I recently discovered the “nature use” artwork shown in the photo at Sapporo Maruyama Park, where I take my morning walk every morning. I have mentioned this kind of artwork several times in my blog, but until now I have mostly encountered artwork that utilized it during the snow season, so I was a bit surprised to see it during the “Imadoki” season.
　On the sidewalk near the entrance to the park from Maruyama Park subway station, I saw a “crowd” of several people and heard them cheering. We overheard their conversation and went straight there as “onlookers” with our husband and wife. Then we came across the artwork shown in the photo. It was truly breathtaking!
　The work above appears to be a panda created by carefully collecting pollen from birch and poplar trees that are flying in the wind this time of year, and composing a “white background. Red flowers were used as accents, and nuts were used as eyes to add the finishing touch. Above all, it must have taken a great deal of persistence to painstakingly assemble the white pollen in this way.
　In the lower part of the work, a “squirrel” was sculpted by painstakingly collecting scraps of tree branches that were scattered around his feet at this time of the year. Here, too, a red flower is used to form the tail, and nuts are used for the eyes.
　The eyes are a very important part of Buddhist sculptures as well, but when he uses nuts, I was deeply impressed by his use of nuts. The use of natural materials in this work enhances the “mind-to-mind” effect. It is wonderful.
　As you can see, I have been enjoying this work every time, so I did a little research about the artist on the Web and found the following information. The following is a summary quote.
　〜The work was created by Hiromi Tanaka, a designer of signs and pamphlets for parks and facilities. When I was taking a walk in a park near my house for a break from work, a scene came to my mind: “A snowman was playing here. I thought it would be fun to see a snowman playing here, so I put a snow boy with arms and legs on a bench. He created a series of works, imagining a story in a snow-covered winter park with “Snow Boy,” who also wore a hat and scarf like a human being, as the main character. 〜The story is about a snow-covered winter park.
　This work was also very “Mono no ahare” and made me feel the Japanese heart in Hokkaido. We are deeply grateful.

【50年前に回想復元「石和温泉」と社員旅行文化】



　高齢者専門の精神科医・和田秀樹氏の著作「70歳が老化の分かれ道」を読了しました。氏の高齢期についてのさまざまな情報発出は社会全体に大きな「気付き」をもたらせていると思います。
　これまでの日本社会が経験したことのない長寿命社会が実現してきている中で、社会システムとしてはその財政的危機の側面ばかりが強調されてきている。財務省が「増税」一択のように政治に対して影響力を色濃くさせてきていることの背景には、こうした高齢化社会の財政負担増への危機感があるのでしょう。
　そこにはひたすら貯蓄し続ける高齢層、という刷り込み認識が大きいように思えてならない。しかしどうなのだろうか、と思う。経済面ではこの高齢者が生み出すあらたなタイプの需要とそのマーケットの顕在化という側面があまり注目されていないのではないだろうか。高齢者マーケットというもの。
　和田先生の著作で表現されている現代の高齢者は、少なくとも70代を健康寿命を維持しながら活動的に過ごすことが示されている。自分自身で考えてみても、あたらしい分野への興味を持って「情報市場開拓」的にマーケティングを考えている次第。社会的に「ピンピンコロリ」的消費市場に着目して、その魅力を掘り起こし需要を喚起する動きというのは着目されて然るべきだと思う。和田先生の一連の著作がベストセラーになったりSNSでの情報発信に大きな注目が集まっている状況はその大きなあらわれだろう。
　わたし自身も、この著作の中で深掘りされた年代になって自分自身を掘り下げて見て、そういった前向きな要素に反応させられてきている。そのような動きも実際に顕現してきている。
　写真は先日の環・富士山レンタカー行脚で立ち寄っていた「石和温泉」。武田信玄の本拠地・甲府にほど近い温泉街で、50年前の社会人スタートのころ入社していた会社の社員旅行で来ていたことがフラッシュバックしていた。入社した会社は武田の家臣伝承を持った一族経営の会社で、そうした経緯から甲府にほど近いこの温泉地が社員旅行の旅先に選定されていた。なんか宴会のシメでは「武田節」までが歌われていた（笑）。
　現代ではこういう「社員旅行」文化というものは衰退していると思われ、マーケティング的にも温泉旅館群は苦境にあるのではないかと思い至っていた。個人的にはある感慨、ノスタルジックなそれを感じていたけれど、しかし、マーケティング課題として捉え直してみると、過去の蓄積を活かしての「打つ手」はありえるのではないかとも思えていた。あらたなマーケットへの気付き・・・。

Ishiwa Hot Springs and Company Travel Culture Recalled 50 Years Ago]
The “company travel culture” is a “cultural legacy” created by postwar economic development. Can’t we unearth this culture and make use of it to expand the market base for the elderly? ……

　I have just finished reading “70 is the turning point of aging” written by Dr. Hideki Wada, a psychiatrist specializing in the elderly. I believe that the various information he has published on aging has brought about a great deal of “awareness” to society as a whole.
　While Japanese society is realizing a longevity unprecedented in the past, the emphasis in the social system has been on the financial crisis aspect of it. The fact that the Ministry of Finance is exerting a strong influence on politics, as if it has a single choice of “raising taxes,” is probably due to the sense of crisis over the increasing financial burden of such an aging society.
　There does not seem to be a large imprinted perception of an elderly population that just keeps on saving. However, I wonder what is going on. In terms of the economy, I think that not much attention has been paid to the new type of demand created by the elderly and the emergence of a market for it. The market for the elderly.
　The elderly of today, as described in Dr. Wada’s book, are shown to be active and maintain a healthy life expectancy at least into their 70s. I myself am thinking of marketing in terms of “information market development” with an interest in new fields. I think that the social “pinprick” consumer market deserves attention for its attractiveness and demand stimulation. The bestseller status of Dr. Wada’s books and the attention paid to information transmission via social networking services (SNS) are major signs of this trend.
　I myself have been inspired by such positive elements of his writings, as I have delved deeper into my own life at the age that he describes in his writings. Such a movement is actually becoming apparent.
　The photo is of Ishiwa Hot Springs, a stopover on my recent rental car trip to Mt. It is a hot spring resort close to Kofu, the home of Takeda Shingen, and I had a flashback to a company trip I took there 50 years ago when I was starting out in the workforce. The company I joined was a family-owned company with Takeda vassal lore, and because of this, this hot spring resort near Kofu had been selected as the destination for the company trip. At the end of the banquet, they even sang the “Takeda-bushi” (laugh).
　I had come to realize that the “company trip” culture seems to be in decline today, and that the onsen ryokan groups may be suffering from a marketing perspective as well. Personally, I felt a certain emotion, a nostalgic feeling, but when I looked at it again as a marketing issue, I thought that there might be a “move” that could be made by utilizing the past accumulation. I am aware of a new market….

【交通量増大の「首都高」〜高速道に信号機】


東京・関東以外のドライバーのみなさん、クルマで都内関東あたりを走るとき、当然「首都高」を利用しますよね。その時もしカーナビが付いていなかったりしたらお手上げですよね。わたしもカーナビが登場する前までは、記憶ではあんまり都内をクルマで走った経験がないと思います。東京に住んでいた当時、いまから54〜45年前ころにはそもそもカーナビがなかったはずなので、たまに運転する機会があったとしても、事前にルートを確認して、エイヤっと慎重に運転していたのだと思います。もちろん、現代とは首都高自体も比較的単線的で、わかりやすかったような記憶がある。
　それとクルマだけで長距離移動するという、最近のわたしのような移動手段選択はしていなかったと思う。東京から札幌に生活拠点を変えて以来、上京機会はたいへん多く毎年２−３回程度は行っていたけれど、あんまりクルマ移動は多くありませんでした。14-5年前くらいから比較的にレンタカーや自家用車（一時期社用車を賃貸住宅周辺の駐車場に常置させていた）でのクルマ移動を経験してきている。とくに一時期は関東地域への営業活動も行っていたし、取材などでも多く出張・長期滞在などしてきた。
　いきおい首都高は当然利用するけれど、あの複雑な路線を脳内にブックマークすることはまず不可能。必然的にカーナビに依存しての運転となっています。まぁ、カーナビはふだんの北海道内移動でもほぼ必需なので、現代生活ではクルマ運転そのものと一体化していますよね。
　で、首都高もそういうふうに便利に使わせていただいていた。
　・・・なんですが、その日常化していた首都高利用でも、はじめて「信号機」に遭遇してしまったのです。事前に「交差点」みたいな注意喚起があって「え、なに、おい」と思っていたら、ついにごらんのような信号待ち状況に。ただただ驚いてばかりだったのですが、時間待ち停車がかなり長かったので、ケータイで撮影。また下の写真はyoutube動画番組からの首都高「交差点」ワンショット。

　たしか関越方向から「美女木」JC周辺箇所ではないかと記憶しています。今回５月末のドライブツアーでのワンシーン。まぁ首都高の路線が拡張につぐ拡張で、それらを「つなげる」という必要性も加速度がついてきて、とうとうこういう信号機交差点というものが出現したのでしょう。でっかいどう、北海道の人間からすると目が点になるような気分がしておりました。要安全運転。首都高、すごい交通状況ですね。

Drivers outside of Tokyo and the Kanto region naturally use the Metropolitan Expressway when driving around Tokyo and the Kanto region. If you don’t have a car navigation system, you’re in deep trouble. Before the advent of car navigation systems, I don’t think I had much experience driving in Tokyo from what I remember. When I lived in Tokyo 54-45 years ago, there were no car navigation systems, so even if I had the occasional opportunity to drive, I would have checked the route beforehand and drove very carefully. Of course, I remember that the Metropolitan Expressway itself was relatively single-track and easy to understand compared to today.
　I don’t think I had the same transportation choices as I do nowadays, traveling long distances only by car. Since I moved to Sapporo from Tokyo, I have had many opportunities to visit Tokyo, about 2-3 times a year, but I did not travel much by car. 14-5 years ago, I started to experience car travel by rental car or private car (for a while I kept my company car in a parking lot around my rental house). In particular, for a period of time, I was engaged in sales activities in the Kanto region, and I also made many business trips and extended stays for interviews and other purposes.
　Naturally, I use the Metropolitan Expressway, but it is impossible for me to bookmark those complicated routes in my brain. Inevitably, I have to rely on the car navigation system. Well, since a car navigation system is almost a necessity for everyday travel in Hokkaido, it has become an integral part of driving itself in modern life.
　So, the Metropolitan Expressway was also used conveniently in this way.
　However, I encountered a traffic light for the first time on the Metropolitan Expressway, which had become a part of my daily routine. I had been warned in advance that there was an intersection, and I thought, “What the heck? I was just amazed, but the wait was quite long, so I took this photo with my cell phone. The photo below is a one-shot of the Metropolitan Expressway “intersection” from a youtube video program.

　I remember that this is the area around “Mimegi” JC from the Kan-etsu direction. This is a scene from a driving tour at the end of May. Well, with the continuous expansion of the Metropolitan Expressway, the need to “connect” them has been accelerating, and this kind of traffic light intersection must have finally appeared. As a person from Hokkaido, I felt as if my eyes were dazzled. Driving safety is a must. The traffic situation on the Tokyo Metropolitan Expressway is amazing.
